Ride the Rivers Century Bicycle Ride

What: The Century Ride includes some of the areas “greatest hits” – our majestic Great Rivers, two major universities, three parks, two ferry crossings, historic Route 66, five trails and the Gateway Arch. Return to Trailhead Brewery for brews and food.
Date: October 11, 2009

Urban Land Tour

What: Do you live around St. Louis and have an interest in checking out some great outdoor spaces in the downtown city area? Then come on out and join the Open Space Council for a jaunt around some of St. Louis city’s best outdoor spaces. Reservations required.

November 7, 2009

Operation Wild Lands (OWLS) Workday

What: Gravois Creek Conservation Area, an urban wild open space that borders Grant’s Trail, is in need of attention from volunteer stewards! Please join us in a work day to focus on cleaning and removing debris from this area. All supplies will be provided and all participants will receive a patch and t-shirt! Gravois Creek CA is south of Interstate 55, near the intersection of Reavis Barracks Road and Highway H. The area can only be accessed by a short hike on Grants Trail.

Pesto Festo! (an EarthDance event)

What: Open Space Council is currently assisting EarthDance, a St. Louis organization seeking to create a fully sustainable community farm, in their efforts to acquire land for the purpose of organic farming. In 2009, EarthDance began an organic farming apprenticeship program. Each year, EarthDance hosts Pesto Festo!, a festival which features live music and dancing, local food and cooking demonstrations, live art, and much more! This year, Pesto Festo will be at the historic Savoy Theater in the heart of downtown Ferguson
