John (Jack) Galmiche III, President and Chief Executive Officer

John (Jack) Galmiche III, President and Chief Executive OfficerJohn (Jack) Galmiche III is KETC’s president and CEO. Galmiche, who was born in St. Louis and is a graduate of St. Louis University, has recently returned to his hometown from Portland, Oregon, where he was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB). Galmiche serves on several public broadcasting boards and committees, is a member of the board and executive committee of the Integrated Media Association and several working groups at PBS.

In addition to his work in public television, Galmiche also has an extensive background in sports management and marketing, having been the president of the Portland Breakers USFL Football Club, director of marketing for the St. Louis Blues Hockey Club, and executive vice president and general manager of the St. Louis Stars Soccer Club, where he was the youngest chief executive of a professional sports franchise at the time. He played professional and collegiate soccer, and was inducted into the St. Louis University Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.

Dick Skalski, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Dick Skalski is senior vice president, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of KETC. As CFO, he is responsible for KETC's fiscal and administrative affairs, including preparation of annual operating budgets, financial statements and forecasts, and human resource management. As COO, he manages the day-to-day operations of the station. Prior to joining KETC, Skalski spent 20 years with PerkinElmer Optoelectronics in various management positions, most recently as controller and part of senior management. He is a licensed CPA and a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs (MSCPA). He has a M.B.A. in finance from Suffolk University in Boston and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Patricia Kistler, Vice President of Programming

As vice president of programming at KETC, Patricia Kistler has more than 20 years of television industry experience. She is responsible for creating and distributing KETC's broadcast schedule, overseeing programming for suitability and compliance with FCC regulations, and planning membership drives. Since joining KETC, Kistler has held several positions including traffic manager, program operations manager and program director, and has received the Golden Grid Award for innovation and achievement in programming. She is a member of the Public Television Programmers' Association (PTPA) and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Kistler graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications from St. Louis University.


Chrys Marlow, Vice President of Engineering and Operations

In serving as vice president of engineering and operations for KETC, Chrys Marlow oversees all technology at the station, including the engineering, production, operations, traffic and IT departments. Since joining KETC in 1985, Marlow has held a number of positions, including maintenance engineer and senior editor. His background includes over 29 years in television, beginning in high school when he was employed by KDNL-TV in St. Louis. Marlow attended Jefferson College and graduated with an associate's degree in electronic technology.


Patrick Murphy, Vice President of Production

Patrick Murphy, Vice President of ProductionIn serving as vice president of production for KETC, Patrick Murphy is responsible for the development, content and presentation of programs produced by the station. Murphy produced and directed the Telly Award-winning documentary American Tower, which profiles the history of the Continental Life building. He is the executive producer and co-creator of the multi-award-winning KETC series Living St. Louis.

Murphy is an adjunct faculty member at Webster University. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor of arts degree and did post-graduate work at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.


Amy Shaw, Vice President of Education Services

An education leader in the PBS system, Shaw is strategically expanding KETC’s education services to fully engage educators and students at all levels in the use of digital media and to increase awareness of the power of public television beyond the traditional broadcast. Since her arrival at KETC in 2003, Shaw has led the station in ground-breaking projects focusing on early literacy and school readiness, teacher training, foster care, and the state of education in the St. Louis region. She currently serves on the National Educational Telecommunications Association CIC Board, the education committee for the Mid-America chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and other committees of local and national education organizations.

Shaw came to KETC-TV from WSIU-TV in Carbondale, IL after directing the station’s education efforts for five years. Shaw was the co-founder of the ChalkWaves consortium, an educational media partnership of public television stations. Shaw holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Public Relations from Bradley University, Peoria, IL; and a master's degree in Telecommunications from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

John Lindsay, Vice President of National/International Productions

John Lindsey, as vice president of national/international productions, is responsible for developing KETC productions for national and international distribution. Lindsay came to KETC from Towers Productions in Chicago, where he was vice president of international productions. While there he established co-production alliances with domestic and international partners in London, France, Germany, Singapore and Japan, and with The History Channel, The Discovery Channel, The Science Channel and National Geographic. He is the executive producer of the PBS documentary The 22nd Century, a science pilot broadcast in January 2007. He has also served as executive vice president of Carlton Productions LLC in Princeton, New Jersey, and spent 14 years at Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB), where he served as senior vice president/director, national/international productions.

Beth Savage, Vice President of Development

Beth SavageAs vice president of development, Beth Savage is responsible for planning and directing all fundraising efforts, including those involving corporations, foundations and individual donors. Before coming to KETC, Savage spent time at the Saint Louis Science Center, where she was director, principal giving. She has also served as director of institutional advancement at Lindenwood University, as director of development and alumni affairs at Southern Illinois University School of Law, and as director of development at Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region. Savage also has previous experience at KETC, serving as director of development between 2001 and 2003.


Michael Hardgrove, President Emeritus

Michael Hardgrove is president emeritus of KETC, having recently retired from his position of president and CEO. Hardgrove joined KETC in 1978 as president and general manager. He currently serves as the chairman of the National Membership and Expansion Committee of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), and as treasurer and founding president of the Public Telecommunications Association of Missouri. His numerous awards for television broadcasting include five Emmy Awards from the Washington, D.C., chapter of NATAS and two Governor's Awards from the St. Louis chapter.

Prior to joining KETC, Hardgrove worked at televisions WTOP (CBS affiliate) and WETA (PBS) in Washington, D.C., and KVIE (PBS) in Sacramento, California. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Tucson, with a bachelor's degree in speech, he served two years in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps.
