2008 Governor's Humanities Community Heritage
Award
On October 22, 2008, the Missouri Humanities Council invited Channel
9 to the Governor's mansion in Jefferson City to accept the 2008
Governor's Humanities Heritage Award for the station's work on Your

Celtic Thunder at the Fox Theatre
On October 17, 2008, Irish singing group Celtic Thunder performed
at the Fabulous Fox Theatre for thousands of fans. Afterwards, Channel
9 members had a chance to meet and greet the stars of the show.

On October 11, 2008, Channel 9 welcomed Susan Meddaugh, author of

to help KETC/Channel 9 launch the new Nine Network for Public Media,
an innovative concept to engage a network of trusted community partners

House

Arthur's Picnic in the Park 2008
On September 27, 2008, Channel 9 held its 8th annual Arthur's Picnic
in Forest Park. Families came from miles around to see their favorite
characters including Arthur, Clifford, Elmo, Sid the Science Kid,

Critical Condition Screening
On September 23, 2008, KETC held a special screening of Critical
Condition, an acclaimed documentary about healthcare in America.

Festival of Nations
On August 23 and 24, 2008, KETC had a booth at the Festival of Nations
in Tower Grove Park to engage the community in Facing the Mortgage
Crisis, an initiative designed to connect people at risk of

St. Louis: Facing the Mortgage Crisis
On July 15 and 22, 2008, KETC hosted live, call-in shows with area
specialists to discuss foreclosure issues faced by homeowners and

KETC Visits the USS John C. Stennis Aircraft Carrier
On May 28, 2008, Living St. Louis Producer Anne-Marie Berger,
Photojournalist Scot Page and KETC Board Member Jeff McDonnell traveled
to California for a tour of the USS John C. Stennis aircraft
carrier. Their trip will be featured on an upcoming Living St.

Mister Rogers Sweater Day
On Thursday, March 20, 2008, KETC staff wore their favorite sweaters
to honor what would have been Mister Rogers 80th birthday. Channel

First Robotics Competition 2008
On February 29, 2008, students from Timberland High School
in Wentzville participated in the First Robotics competition
held at the St. Charles Convention Center. The team is part of KETC's
